How competitive is the fashion industry?

I'm interested in becoming a fashion designer and going to the London College of Fashion. Thing is after I get my fashion degree will I beable to get a job easily? Cos I dont wanna study for 3 years and not be able to get into the industry.

last year i lived with 4 final year fashion students. of the people on their course who graduated (about 30) only 2 were offered jobs in the industry. and those two have since lost their jobs because the companies couldn't afford them.
if you graduate from the london college of fashion with a decent grade, you're pretty much guaranteed work, but it's REALLY tough to get in.
it's a hard industry to do well in, but those that do, do REALLY well.
