@DonnerKebab hey bro, how are you this afternoon ?

I'm fine thanks. And you? Good sleep mate?

Same, I'm ok too thanks. I slept OK. Sorry for not replying, I forgot @DonnerKebab

Oh don't worry about that mate. It's all good.

So, if you don't mind me asking, how are you feeling with all the stuff with the Mix. Have they said anything to you, cause you seemed a little nervous, if you don't mind me saying, in the support chat?

Nice. Just the post about not tolerating swearing and I've done it a lot, I feel bad about it too @DonnerKebab hopefully I'll be fine but we'll have to see what happens.

Yeah, i wouldn't be to concerned. You apologised, never swore at any mods or supervisors the whole time, were justifiably frustrated. It happens. They won't do anything other than remind you that swearing is generally not liked in the discussion boards. I'm almost 100% certain that's all. So, what else is on your mind mate if you don't mind me asking?

Cheers bro, hopefully you're fully right. Just the job search and everything hopefully I get sorted and you do too because I want to save for a house, get a mrs, get a new car etc

That would be a dream come true wouldn't it. I think for me, at wingfest getting flirted with, was a one of, or i guess a 4 time of just because of the Lava wing challenge. I mean, besides that, there's nothing going for me in the way of a Mrs's ever. And yeah, a job would be nice. We'll get there eventually mate. That whole life would be cool to have.

I've actually have started to look at visa's myself elsewhere, cause UK salaries are actually really low now and the job market is screwed right now. You can apparently make 80,000 to 100,000 Australian dollars on a working holiday to Australia, with little to no qualifications, assuming you did overtime work, which is about up to £50,000 a year. And you can extend it for like 3 years. It's crazy, but i'm eying up that, hoping to save up and come back. I reckon, after tax, and living costs, I could save like 20K a year if i did that. I mean, that's like £60K coming back after 3 years. Again, it's a long shot, but to do that, i'm trying to save up £10K to be able to pay for flights, an apartment for the first month, and other stuff like that just setting up, like an emergency fund to get back home, and the Visa cost itself. So, i need a job to save for a visa to get me a higher paying job crazily enough so i can save. Odd stuff.

Anyway, it's a bit of a far stretch, but it's the plan I've got in mind right now. I've had very little independence in my life, so it's a big step, but maybe it'll work out. You miss all the shots you don't take. Sorry, i've rambled on a bit.

@DonnerKebab that is a great goal to have, and wow I never knew that about Australia and how much you can save. And when you come back with that amount of money, that’s a decent deposit for a house, and you’ll have work experience. Aim high, you can do it!!

No problem, it’s always good to have these ideas for the future.

FWIW I’m in a similar position to you both, though for different reasons. I’m 22, disabled, have been unemployed forever and pretty much rely on disability benefits. Though there are some differences, I think the 3 of us can understand each other on a level.

I know you’ve struggled a lot with not having a job @Redemption but like I’ve said to you before, it does take time to find your path.

And same for you @DonnerKebab. You will get there in the end, especially with big goals like that.

You both have the drive and determination to move forward. My situation is a little different as the determination can be there but disability discrimination is out in full force and is never going away.

Life is one of those things where no one’s road through it is the same, and sometimes we hit a crossroads and can choose what direction we take. Other times still things outwith our control mean we’re forced to change direction, but it’s all ok. We’ll eventually find our way.

Thanks @independent_ and @Redemption . I'm of to sleep myself now, but i'm wishing you both the best as well. We will all make it through this, and we'll reach our goals eventually, no matter how hard it is. I'm really glad to have found people in a similar place going through somewhat similar challenges you know. Where there's a will, there's a way, even if it's hard to see at times. Have a good night you two.

@eylah just surviving as usual, you know. Anything on your mind you want to get of your chest at all, or anything you want to talk about? I'm happy to talk about anything from the fact that pineapple on pizza should be firing squad offence, to any issues you might be having that you want to vent about.

@Redemption . I know it's pretty tough right now for you, and it seems pretty hopeless at times, but trust me brother, things will get better with time. It might not seem it now, but it will. Your an absolute trooper for keeping going in spite of everything. Just wanted to say remind you of that again.

So, any new hobbies or interests you've explored recently mate?

@Redemption , oh a few things here and there you know. Mostly just getting my model ships and aircraft cleaned up a bit. I've got like 100 of them now, so it's a pretty long dusting and cleaning task, but hey, at least it's something to do with my spare time.

Anyway, I'm happy to hear that your starting to get your passion back again. It was a case for me of my passion slowly coming back over the span of weeks, back to how it was before, so don't worry if it's not fully come back to it's previous levels, it might just take time, but it's a good sign mate that it's starting to interest you again.

That's something to be proud of. I know it doesn't seem this way, especially when it's been hard for such a long time, but trust me, holding on is the best thing you can do. And you have to celebrate the small wins. That's what kept me sane over the years.

Have you spoken to anybody else about this might i ask? Is it, like, anxiety, or just general depression if you know, or just, tough circumstances? Sorry if these are prying questions, you don't have to answer them if you don't want to.

    @eylah

You know, just looking at the amount of supportive words you've been giving others, i really want to just say this. Sorry if it sounds creepy, but the fact that you're dealing with such hardship, and are struggling with it all, yet still made time to come out with words of support for others who are also struggling, and reminding people they are not alone with you're "your doing your best" post, which really helped me btw, is something amazing. You have a really kind soul. You really should be proud of yourself for it.

I know that when you've been struggling for a very long time, it can seem hopeless at points, like it's just going to be more of the same, but trust me. There's always hope things will get better. It sounds cliché to say, but there is. Happiness in small moments, despite all the difficulty. Sorry if this sounds like just rambling btw.

There isn't a lot i can really say besides what I already have, but I'm really happy to listen to you if you want to vent about it all, or just talk about it with you, or just to let you know that you're also not alone through all the hardships you're going through. It's a big task, but sometimes, it gives me a break from certain passions so i don't become too dependent on them 24/7 for happiness. And yeah, trust me, once you have a good time balance between hobbies and passions, and everything else, it does start to come back. I can promise you that. Not all at once, but bit by bit. Give it a few weeks mate. These are the aircraft models i'm sorting lol.
