Proud of you!! I’m not a quick learner so you will definitely get better with practice! Don’t worry about it getting too loose, you will figure it out and at least you made a chain ((: Even though single crochet is probably the easiest, I actually learnt double crochet first because I couldn’t grasp single at first. I think maybe it’s because double is easier to see but I’m not sure. So yeah, do what’s right for you when you learn.
KEEP CROCHETING AND SENDING HUGS
I also took a photo of the crochet book I used for the stitch as the stitch isn't my own pattern. But I have enjoyed doing some squares this week.
: D
I absolutely love the bag - its so well made @spoon
idk if this pic will upload but here are my squares!! they are not very neat but it's my first go :")
crochet is so relaxing !!
Keep at it

Thanks! Here's a copy and paste of what I wrote on Reddit on how I made it if you're interested:
"For the Granny squares, I followed this:
I stitched them together like this: https://imgur.com/a/CSuHptW
For the top boarder, I did single and then half double crochets around it. For the handles, I did 95 chains and did two rows of half doubles and stitched them to the bag
I used a 4mm hook btw
I’m more of a visual learner but if you prefer to read, there’s this: https://www.crochet365knittoo.com/sweet-summer-sunflower-bag/ "
Proud of you swift! Better than what I did when I first started haha
