    I think it's an 1/8, if your caught with something like a half ounce and they are not decent cops then they could bust you.

    Even when the law changes (when is that anyway?) you could still face jail time for 'personal' amounts, so morrocan is right, there is NO amount that will make it alright.

    depends how ur carrying it. if its weighed out into 8ths ur fucked but if u got an oz in 1 bag i reckon u could get away with percy. and if they were being arsey i'd demand the right to prove it.

    The problem is that there is no one way of handling cannabis between the police forces.
    I'd say the met or some other city forces wouldnt make a big deal out of amounts under 1/2oz but many other forces would take you to court over an 1/8th.

    And even if you just get a caution, thats still a police record, something that you would have to declare on job application forms untill it is 'spent' under the rehabilitation of offendors act 1973 (though dont qoute me on the date).

    However there are some jobs where you'd always have to declare it, so it will always be a mark on you.

    My mate got locked up when caught with about 4 or 5 joints on him. He only got a caution but like bongbudda said it is still on his record.
    They locked him up for about 4hrs at a cop station miles from where we live. He had no money to get home, I had to wait up till about 2 o'clock early monday morning so I could pick him up. Pigs:mad:
