Acts of kindness for lent

DurhamjaideDurhamjaide Posts: 1,225 Wise Owl
So instead of giving something up like chocolate I thought I would do something nice for other people so I thought I would do an act of kindness every day. I’m going to be posting every day what I do so feel free to join in.

Sorry. That sounds like a good idea. But what does lent mean?
“And when they look at you, they won't see everything you've been through. They won't see the **** that turned to scars that began to fade with time. They won't see the heartbreaking things that shook up and changed your entire world. They won't know how many tears you cried or even what it was you were crying about. They won't see how strong you had to be because you had no other choice. What they will see though is how compassionate you are because you experienced pain. What they will see is how kind you are because you experienced how cruel the world is. What they will see is how good you are because you've seen how bad things or people can be. The difference between you and your experiences are who you choose to be, despite everything that could have turned you cold and unkind. You are the good the world needs and the best of us.” ~ Kirsten Corley

Ahh I love this idea! Instead of giving something up for Lent. Nice!

Ah this is such a nice idea, I’m stopping swearing for lent lol I’m finding it hard so far. @Shaunie lent is the period between Ash Wednesday (day after pancake day) and Easter (40 days) Christians normally give up or do something in this period to represent the 40 days when Jesus went into the desert to fast and pray x

    1. I made my career a cuppa
    2. I wrote some postcards because I’m on a site called postcrossing which is where you send postcards to people in the world and get a different postcard from someone else in a different part of the world.

@Durhamjaide that post card trading sounds so lovely! Is the idea that you send a postcard of the place you live?
