How do people write poems?

i couldnt sleep the other night so i thought id try to write a "poem" probably not a poem cause have no idea how to actually write them. Proabably just a load of words i tried to rhyme lol. And may not make sense to others

PTW

Trapped me in your room
to steal my dignity
Couldnt use your bathroom
lost my sanity

I couldnt control a thing
my body had no choice
My brain could see every thing
but no one could hear my voice

My stomach was crushed by your hand
gave me a stabbing pain,
No one will ever understand
too hard to explain

Id rather it was a knife
Because youve already taken my life.

My body is contaminated
just want to get out,
Makes me agitated
Im dirty throughout

Still humiliated
feels like death
Like im suffocated
its hard to catch my breath

Forced me to wee on you
I just want to be free from you
Gave it a new assocation
I dont want my body,
Keep picturing a train station
So i can be nobody"

“And when they look at you, they won't see everything you've been through. They won't see the **** that turned to scars that began to fade with time. They won't see the heartbreaking things that shook up and changed your entire world. They won't know how many tears you cried or even what it was you were crying about. They won't see how strong you had to be because you had no other choice. What they will see though is how compassionate you are because you experienced pain. What they will see is how kind you are because you experienced how cruel the world is. What they will see is how good you are because you've seen how bad things or people can be. The difference between you and your experiences are who you choose to be, despite everything that could have turned you cold and unkind. You are the good the world needs and the best of us.” ~ Kirsten Corley

@Shaunie you're really talented at writing, you should write poems more often.

How did you find writing it? Did it help when you were struggling to sleep?

I also just want to send you a hug, I'm so sorry you had to go through this <3
Maybe somethings don't get better, but we do. We get stronger. We learn to live with our situations as messy and ugly as they are. We fix what we can and we adapt to what we can't. Maybe some of us will never fully be okay, but at least we're here. We're still trying. We're doing the best we can. That's worth celebrating too ❤
