Should people live together before they get married?

Former MemberFormer Member modPosts: 228 Trailblazer
A hundred years ago, living together before or out of marriage (cohabiting) was generally seen as sinful, and it wasn't that common. Now, it's not so surprising, but that doesn't necessarily mean it's a good thing.

Maybe it's unromantic, or shows a lack of commitment, to "try before you buy"? Or maybe it's pretty foolhardy to marry someone when you don't even know if you can live together?
