That's because it's unreciprocated. When someone loves you as much as you do them, love is the most amazing feeling in the world. I'm not going to pretend it's not still difficult and even painful sometimes, but it can absolutely be worth that. You just have to find someone who makes you feel amazing, and you have your whole life ahead of you to do that.
