The NHS debate

Well, we've seen the stories e.t.c. coming out the USA about how "evil" our system is, but is it?

A few years ago I was diagnosed with carpal tunnel syndrome in my hand. From diagnosis to surgery was 4 weeks, and it didn't cost me a penny. The aftercare was fantastic, I even got picked up and taken home from the hospital because I couldn't drive, and I felt GUILTY for doing so because I knew I could have got a lift from family.

I know the system isn't perfect, but really, is the USA's system of charging the earth for medical care any better....?

(The stats say it isn't, UK is ranked 18th and the USA 37th by the WHO...)

Oh, this link is hilarious. For those who don't know Glen Beck is one of the most out-spoken people against our system
