Polyamory - Promiscuity or human nature?

Former MemberFormer Member Posts: 1,876,323 The Mix Honorary Guru
Polyamory is the practice of having more than one loving relationship at the same time with the knowledge and consent of both partners.

Whilst it is seen as morally wrong in our society (especially for women) to have many sexual partners, what do people feel about the act of polyamory? After all it's not cheating and if people do have feelings towards a certain amount of people should they not be allowed to marry more than one person if they're "in love" with that individual?

Perhaps it's human nature to want more than one partner, after all animals do it and isn't the point of relationships to reproduce? Or is it something called "love"? In fact, is a polyamorous individual in love at all? Or just a dirty hoe.

Discuss.

Having more than one partner is amoral/not true love.
