Toughening of hands?!

Hi everyone, bit of a weird question but here goes. I went to see my g.p today, and she said that on a letter from my consultant (rheumatologist) it said that she's noticed some 'toughening' of my hands - what the hell does that mean?! I have some kind of arthritis in my hands, so I guess it's linked to that, but she never mentioned it to me at my appointment. Maybe she didn't want to worry me, I don't know. I'm still waiting for a proper diagnosis, just wondered if this pointed in any direction? Any help appreciated! Tates

you should ask your doctor because you seem concerned about this and they should have really explained it to you
