Just seen this in that story:

Nizam Mamode, deputy chairman of the British Medical Association's Consultants' Committee -

"His problem was that he didn't have the flexibility that was necessary and he had the perception that doctors were part of the problem."

That they don't see it just exacerbates that problem

You might say that, I couldn't possibly comment...

Other than to say that he once said that he wouldn't leave his office until he has seen the reforms through. At least, he wouldn't willingly leave office...

Funny that it comes so soon after the Chancellor's conversion to fanatical pro-Europeanism. Maybe a deal was done to get rid of Millburn who almost certainly would have been the Blairite candidate for next Labour leader for Brown in return for his support on the Euro? As an aside I wonder if the new Health Secretary will continue with foundation hospitals? Also raises interesting comments about the number of Blairites in the cabinet.
