Ah..Canada.............sorry got carried away 19 to drink, enter a bar it's like here there are family pubs and 19 or over places, age of consent i don't know about but i'd say it was 16/17, but don't quote me on that!

All evil needs to thrive is for good men to sit back and do nothing

cheers, but over here, in bonny britain is there a law stating that you have to be 18 to simply stand (or sit) at a bar in a pub? <IMG alt="image" SRC="tongue.gif" border="0"> <IMG alt="image" SRC="wink.gif" border="0"> <IMG alt="image" SRC="biggrin.gif" border="0">

If a pub has a family licence, kids of any age can go in there. Many local pubs let kids in with their family. I think you are supposed to be 14 to be allowed into a pub but not to drink, 16 to drink with a meal (beer or wine only) and 18 to buy any drinks you want for yourself.

Okay... I think I posted this for you once before.

Age of consent in Canada is a bit weird. From the age of 14 to 18 there can only be a 3 year age difference between the couple. So, a 14 year old can sleep with a 17 year old but not an 18 year old. After 18, it's all legal.

You lie, Marmite! It's 19 in some provinces, 18 in others. In Quebec, Alberta, and Manitoba it's 18 but everywhere else it's 19. And this is why my first choice for uni was in Montreal...

And as for the UK... It's 14 to enter a pub without parents (provided it's not a Weatherspoons) or to sit at the bar. At 16, it's a glass of wine or a beer with a meal consisting of at least "A sandwich with pickle" or equivalent (and it does actually mention the pickle in the law) though the landlord has the right to refuse service if he so chooses.

Yeah, but how few people are there in New Brunswick?

And I can sort of understand the consent system. Not that it matters too much over here 'cause I seem to remember the average age of people losing their virginity is either 18 or 19. *feels like a slut*
