the 6 lines are the guitar strings

bottom is the low E (lowest sounding string) and top is the high E (highest sounding string

The numbers on the lines are the fret number that you should have your finger on.. 5 is 5th fret.. 7 is 7th etc.. 0 is an open string :D

Eg.. Basic E Chord would look like this :

    E
    0--- (high)
    B
    0---
    G
    1---
    D
    2---
    A
    2---
    E
    0--- (low)

The chords written above the tab are the chords that are being displayed on the tabulature :)

    Hope that helped you!! :)

oh. and 'X' means to scratch or mute the string as you play.. if you work out the chords to a song, then listen to it, you'll work out the timing just fine :)

You been playing long? you'll get the hang of tab after a while :) I use tabs to get the chords, then just listen to the song for the timing :)
