    Well done! :D

    They're actually quite good and far more difficult than what they seem - especially when you guess/know/are told the answer and you realise how obvious it was! lol

    erm noy you can work out without a calculator:

    (1.476 x 10^6) + (5.0101 x10^5)

    :D not really that hard but gives your brain a work out getting your head round the numbers :p (see this thread is useful keeping your brain active is good for you :D)

    Well Done

    Answere to yours is: 1,476,000 + 501,010 = 1,977,010

    76 65 51 63 52

    There ya go :p
    Lower quartile = 54 1/4

    Median = 63

    Upper quartile = 68

    I think.

    I have forgotten the statistical definition for an outlier, I was only doing it a few months ago as well.........:(

    Is it if the statistic is more then 2.5 times the standard deviation away from the mean? :confused:

    Is an outlier a result that is 2.5 times the interquartile range away from the median? :confused:

    The method I've learnt is:
    You work out the interquartile range then you times it by 1.5 then add it to the upper quartile, and any number above that is an outlier. Then you take the interquartile x 1.5 and subtract it from the lower quartile - any number below that is an outlier.

    Then you can if you have the time and can be botherd you can draw a box plot :D
