Shaving..

Former MemberFormer Member Posts: 1,876,323 The Mix Honorary Guru
I know that this question has been asked a MILLION of times. I've looked back 7 pages and couldn't find a thread that would help me, but I'm sorry for any inconveniance...or..something LoL.

Alright.. Well, I think there is something terribly wrong with my skin or my freakin body, cause EVERYTIME i shave, I ALWAYS get bumps... It's gotten to the point that I get so pissed off and frustrated I start to cry, LoL. Ive started a month or less ago, since my boyfriend is coming to visit me in June I want to look good for him and make him happy and all of that. I want this to be a FUN experience, not bloody and horrific. ( I know he wont be stuck up and be an ass if Its not perfect, but I want to see that smile on his face, hehe)
Ive done everything...Ive soaked in hot water for a long time, all of those things.. .Used a new razor. But even when I shave w/ the hair growth, there's hair still there, and after a couple of days I try to do it opposite since my skin would prolly be used to the shaving, and some of it DOES come off, but then it still starts to bleed, and then the whole redness and bumps horror occurs..

Has anyone here used "Bikini Zone"? I dont know if you guys get it, but here in the US we have it...and I havent used it, but I'm afraid of spending my money which Ive saved for important circumstances, and then not working. Ive used the wax "Nair", and Ive wasted my precious dollars... Ive never bled so much in my life, hah. Any other things that I may get in a Supermarket or something? Id love to be smooth and all... All those damn porn stars are all smooth, and it makes me jealous, lol. Just to let you know, theres no way I'm going to the proffessional places and getting that done by a stranger, lol.

I'm sorry for such a long post, I know it's been asked a million times. But I really really want some good advice... I'm desperate!!! please??

I appreciate it very much... thnx

Natalia

If "Bikini Zone"'s a hair removal cream (Like immac or veet), then yeah, I've used it and it does the job nicely. You just have to make sure you put moisteriser on afterwards or it might go a bit red and sore for a while, but give it a whirl :)

    http://www.myvag.net/index.shtml - there's a bit on shaving there

    http://www.the-clitoris.com/f_html/shaving.htm - and there

not an appropriate link - kazzy

Maybe it just doesn't like being shaved, in which case there's nothing you can do about it.

you dont know that the porn stars FEEL smooth, they probably just look it. When you first shave it, it doesnt go properly smooth till its all dry and settled down in my experience. if the porn stars are smooth theyve probably had a full hollywood wax down there. Whatever you do dont shave against the grain, as it just cuts you, gives you folliculitis and makes you look like a plucked chicken.

Just as a sidetrack - is it ok to use Immac (or Veet as its now called) over the whole area and not just the bikini line?

Scuse me butting in but can I ask why you feel so pressured into doing something that is obviously causing you discomfort?

Why do you want to do what the porn stars do?

I think its weird that blokes like to shag women who have done something to themselves that makes them feel like a pre-pubescent girl. It turns my stomach

one of the reasons i dont shave the whole lot off is its so hard to actually get it completely smooth, its always going to be a bit stubbly from some angles unless its waxed.

I do think women and girls are under a lot of pressure to look like porn stars though, big pert tits and no body hair - its a bit freaky really, since very few people look like that naturally, and its very difficult for most people to acheive the porn star look at all - why should we even want to.
I think you need to look closely at the reason youre so hung up on it that you are getting upset and CRYING about not being able to get it smooth.

You say your boyfriend wont be visiting until June? So if your determined that you will be smooth for him and for the right reasons why not give yourself May to recover? Grow your pubes back and then before he arrives, try again? Simply going over it again and again whilst it is sore and bleeding isnt going to help at all.:D

LoL Yeah, I gave my self some time after that waxing incident.
    As for the other posters...
I don't feel pressured to do it, I know my boyfriend loves me for how I look... But Id just love to suprize him and everything...
And for that porn star comment, I was just jokin around. I love my body and how it looks :) Shaving some of it makes me feel sexy, and I really like it for the times that I was successfull. I dont feel 'pressured', I just enjoy lookin like that for my man and so forth..

For all the times I've tried, I know what works so far for me, but I know I'll learn more. Btw, Im considering going to the store today and see what they have to offer...The one near me really sucks but its walking distance and I dont mind...

Tthanks for all the replies though :) I really appreciate it..

Another question.. Ive actually tried to use my tweezer, and as CRAZY as this sounds, its not that bad to be honest with you. Has anyone tried it before? It does hurt a lil bit, but I tweeze my eyebrowz, not the same as pubic hairs, but its not as painfull as it sounds...

    Take care:p

if you really want to do it, id suggest getting the whole lot professionally waxed. itd be a bit undignified, but theyd have seen it all before anyway, and its likely to give you a lot better results for longer than shaving ever would. (if youre brave enough)

There are a variety of different methods to get rid of unwanted hairs shaving is just one of them. Theres also tweezing, plucking, trimming, waxing and other hair removal ways. Maybe one of these will work better instead. I am not American and I haven't looked into hair removal techniques that much at all. But hopefully the solution to your problem is right around the corner.
