The European Army and how it will work:

• 1.The RAF in future will be known as the Luftwaffe
• 2.The Ark Royal will be renamed Tirpitz
• 3.The role of General Sir Peter de Billiere will be played by Max Von Sydow
• 4.The 17/21st King's own Lancers will merge with the Danish Peace Corps to become the European Housing Agency
• 5.The England football team will be commanded by Field Marshall Sven Goran Erikkson
• 6.The Imperial War Museum will be renamed the Metric War Museum in accordance with EC directive 80/181
• 7.Regimental mascot for the European Rapid Reaction force will be the Snail
• 8.The new motto for the British Army will be "for EU Tommy the war is over"

Exactly, thats why a European army just won't work. Each country has its own defence agenda and foreign policy so if a European army was set up the countries involved would spend so much time arguing about whether or not to send the army into a conflict that it would all be over by the time they were done.

I hope the French do see some action, as it will give them a chance to use their traditional battle cry:

"We surrender! Here -- have my daughter!"
