I love this girl at school. We've been best friends for years (I am now 14 and have known her since 5). Im sure she likes me as she smiles at me all the time and stares at me in class.
I don't know whether to ask her our or not!
Please help me.

Hmm, you have to be careful with things like this, because if you're best friends it would be a gamble. Next time you see her just drop in a 'what if we...' thing, and you'll be able to tell by how she reacts whether she wants to go out with you or not. If she gets all embarrassed and weird about it then jusy laugh it off for the moment and see what happens. If she seems keen, go for it. After all, if you've known each other that long hopefully it wouldn't be awkward afterwards if she didn't return your feelings.

I admire your optimism - i wish i had some!!

But Dav don't waste opportunities, i've done it and you just spend your life wondering why! I have taken the 'i don't want to ruin our friendship' stance many a time, and most recently discovered that he WAS interested in me just didn't think i felt the same!! Whatever you decide mate keep an open mind, be prepared for anything. My theory is if you expect the least then anything else is a bonus, But can you handle her saying she doesn't feel the same?! Man this is a hard one, but if you decide to say nothing, don't let your feelings take over your life.
You never know the outcome of things unless you try! let us know what you decide!

Good wind, you have reconciled the problem now then, my mate (sheffield medic) was my version of yours and she occasionally rings me drunk to tell me she wants me at about midnight and then we go back to being great friends again, and that is how i like it -apart from the opther copmplications of course!
