    for thousands of years nothing much had changed by way of travel, cooking methods, manufacturing, engineering etc etc.
    the people of the north of england stopped 5,000yrs of , same as it ever was and unleashed upon the globe.....industrialisation.

    There doesn't seem an appreciable difference between the north and south.

    The main difference is that the south (especially south-east) is expensive, due to its close proximity to London.

    I prefer Bradford to Southampton, however...even if it does get bad press.

    As for anyone being stuck up...you get nice and nasty people from everywhere.

    My Nokia 51whatever (which is the predecessor of tin cans and string) works fine in the north, south and the area between).

    More fresh air to breathe? What? It isn't all countryside in the north, we have some of Britain's most industrial cities (think Middlesbrough!)

    I wouldn't usually mind people saying we in the north are friendly, beats them saying we're all poor and race whippets, but there are nice people and stuck up people everywhere and you can't generalise like that!
