Chica, I know what your talking about. At my school there is boy who was raped by a guy at the age of eight. When he finally came out with this, three years after the incident, he was bullied and ridiculed by the people in his class.
I know small children can be monsters, but I find it very hard to speak to any of these guys now, months after. They saw it as a joke, i saw it as one of sickest things I have ever heard (I have an 8 year old brother, and I would do my best to kill anyone who touched him, so that may have been part of it).
I am pleased to say that the people in question had the shit kicked out of them by everyone my age who knew, so maybe there's hope yet for the human race.
Anyway, back on topic. Untill recently homosexuality was illegal in the UK, and its still got a lot of stigma even today. If a politician, singer, actor, anyone who's a celebrity, announces that their gay, it's suddenlyfront page news.
Anyone remember that cabinet guy who got beaten up by someone who was cottaging? He was forced to resign, mainly because he was gay. Hopefully this is the sort of thing that will become history, there's a lot more acceptance than there was 20 years ago, and 40 years ago you could be imprisonned for it.
