I have a date

Saturday I have a date, and I'm actual terrified.

He's told me most his family have mental health and nothing would scare him away, so I told but the small bits, and he's still wanting to meet me :o

I don't want to know someone that's just going to leave me in the short term, as it feels like it breaks me into a million pieces.

Any tips in keeping calm on a date? Or any tips about anything?:)

    I found that looking at them not as a date where you were gonna meet the one and the love of your life and it was gonna be all amazing and special but as a way of meeting more people and making new friends with potential made them a lot more manageable. Your whole life does not depend on this one date or on this one person - you can afford to enjoy meeting someone and not worrying about the future.

    I agree about focusing as much as possible on the present rather than the future. For the moment, it's just you meeting up with someone. If you have a nice time, then that's great, do it again. One date at a time, if you keep enjoying it, keep doing it. If you find you don't really click together, that's still fine - it's always better to have tried, and you always learn something.

    It sounds like you've been pretty open with each already, which is a really good start :)

    The long term is always a bit scary - if you care about someone, that always come with some risk. But you can always take things at your own pace, and you can build trust with someone over time.

    He's way too lovely. Shouldn't get hopes up but really excited for Saturday. Already met his sister, and she seems lovely!

    One day you'll find a guy you like a lot, and will probably be able to get past that fear. I'm talking from experience.
