Why daydreaming and fantasizing is so comfortable and soothening ?

We imagine of people , situations , events, involving materialistic possessions , sex , relationships. Sometimes something which is not likely to materialise. But at end of it we are relaxed and comfortable and continue with the realistic world. Why all of us love daydreaming and fantasizing so much ?

    Easy.
    It lets us imagine something to aim for.
    Or in some cases lets us escape reality.

    I try to dream big, but in a way that's still doable. For me... if something is possible, it's worth aiming for.

    People usually daydream about the things they cant or should not have to get the feeling what if it happens and how exactly does it feel. I enjoy the part that this is one of the few things that is for free.
