Deciding which half marathon training plan to use

I have a half marathon at the end of June and really need start thinking (many are 12 or 16 weeks) what plan I'm going to use. I also have some races during my training too. I've been told this shouldn't be too hard to slot in with the training.

How did people decide which one they went for? I've come across some which are based on distance, (but never go above 11 - 12 miles) some are based on time and some are a mixture of both. I've been told that time spent on feet is better.
