    "Thread" is more correct than "post" in this instance anyhow... Who said the oldies have to be right? I always support what is right more than what it the custom.

    I would say thread dead, because it's the thread that has died, not the individual post. I suppose you could say post dead, but that would be odd. But then I think turtle was a bit odd so I suppose it fits if he used it first. Though he didn't, of course, as it's used all over the net.
