Depends on what your little girl looks like. Fiona's a much nicer name (i don't like Emmy at all) but she might not look like a Fiona at all.

Both lovely names. Have you considered using them both e.g fiona for 1st name and emmy for the middle name?

Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy.

 The name needs to be, imo, a name that will also suit an adult too. It's no good choosing a name that will sound awful on an adult.

Is Emmy the sort of name for a laywer, GP, etc?

I have an adult friend called Emmy, it never occurred to me that it was childish but then I don't know any children called Emmy.

I don't know if it's childish or not, the only Emmy I can think of is Emmy-Lou Harris (the country singer), I just don't like the name!

I prefer fiona - emmy seems to sound short for something as I'm always getting called that and my name is Emily.

If my baby is a girl she is going to be Niamh (neve) or Amelia :)

    xx

This might sound daft, but because of Amy (Amelia) in Doctor Who, might Amelia be really popular at the mo?

My friend is called Amelia Niamh but we call her Min!

Back to the OP, I also think Emmy sounds like it's short for something but the choice is yours :)

Emmy Awards though... it could be a nice name if it was shorter for something or double barreled.
