Can we have a thread for prayers/thoughts for the people of Japan and those on the pacific islands and elsewhere in the pacific region.

Really terrible stuff.

I know... I hope the victims will be relatively few (although that's unlikely :() and that nothing worse will happen.

It won't be just Japan when the tsunami hits the coast elsewhere. Fingers crossed people will get away from the coast safely in places like Peru and Chile.

Prayers and thoughts with just about everyone in the Pacific rim this morning.

RedCross are accepting donations. Text REDCROSS to 90999 to donate $10. Here are some photos on the damage. http://www.theatlantic.com/infocus/2011/03/earthquake-in-japan/100022/

Made me cry the more I scrolled down.

Yes, this. I don't want to look and I feel like that makes me a bad person but the whole situation makes me so sad, I don't know what to do or say.

    Praying for everyone.

I'm starting to wonder when the banner headlines on the news channels is going to start reading like this:

    Nuclear emergency OMGOMGOMG!!!11!!1

Seriously guys, you have to show the same thing over and over again in the space if 15 minutes??

Now this footage is stunning, worth watching to the end. Starts at street level as the wave comes in...
