Wheat and gluten allergy

Former MemberFormer Member Posts: 1,876,323 The Mix Honorary Guru
I have a friend with this allergy, and i am cooking a meal for her
Lasagne, does anyone know how the pasta in it will taste?
Because it is different, do u think it changes the taste much?
I was going to do a trial run but i can't now and i am dreading my signature dish tasting crap because i have had to change it.
Many thanks in advance x

 There's very (imo) little difference in the taste.

PLUS with all that beefy, tomatoy, herby saucy goodness going on you're not gonna notice any difference.

Don't forget though, flour has wheat/gluten in it too so you may have a problem with the white sauce!

Wheat free pasta in pasta bake type stuff is fine, you can't tell the difference. Not quite so good in stuff where the pasta taste/texture is more key (eg. plain pasta and cheese)
