What does it mean?!

Rather embarrassed so please dont make fun. :blush::blush:

But what does 'poking' mean in sex terms. I've been told its a scottish term. A friend used it in a conversation about a couple I know, and I had to try make out that I understood what she meant. Anyone know?

    It just means "having sex", i.e. penetrative sex. I don't think it is a particularly Scottish expression. It is commonly used all over the UK, but probably more usually by older adults.

    May be amongst younger folk, but older adults definitely mean full sex. Anyway, it suggests there might be differences in meaning, depending on your audience. It isn't an expression I'd use in conversation anyway.

    It is a horrible phrase, i don't think i would be impressed if someone said they wanted to "poke" me

    It is quite a derogatory term and I have only heard it used when talking about other people, e.g. "I wouldn't mind giving that a poke", or bad-mouthing someone else's relationship, "Of course, so-and-so didn't care because they were poking such-and-such at the time" ...

    Not a nice way of talking.
