i didnt know anything about this untill i read an article on pregancy symptoms, light spotting?
i had my period then finished, so i had sex but a few days later there was blood but it wasnt normal it was really light and like a pinky/orangy colour, is this what spotting would look like? anyone else experienced the same thing?

I'm not sure if the spotting you mention has anything to do with pregnancy, but unusual bleeding isn't that uncommon and can be caused by a number of things. There's a Q&A in the askTheSite archive which explores some of the reasons that you might find helpful to read:
