    I'm not sure I understand; I get that they look like lightsabres and that they are dangerous.... but what's the point of them? What do people want to buy them for? For waving around purposes? Surely if they burn through skin they'll bugger up your wallpaper too.....?

    Because of the power of the laser I doubt it is legal in the UK. The news story does state that these are for sale online, and posted to the UK.

    I think it's a bit less easily controllable than a knife and there's no other main use for it.
