English parties...

I was just wondering if anyone had the name of a site, which gives a basic briefing about the different english parties, their head-cases, and high-profiled politicians?

Thanks :)

I doubt it, no-one will be objective enough to give an honest opinion of all three main parties. Unless you count Private Eye, but that is a satirical magazine.

Have you tried a google search for the following

Labour Party (also try: New Labour)
    Conservatives (also try: Tories)
Liberal Democrats (also try: Useless wankers, with no chance of ever being elected to Govt :D)

See what that brings up..we might be able to give you a few pointers towards certain individuals if you need it...such as

Dennis Skinner - Labour Party "maverick"
    Neil Hamilton - shamed Tory
Jeremy Thorpe - former disgraced Liberal Leader..

Theres a reasonable summary of the political parties available at Pupilline (link) although its a bit basic.

If you are looking for just factual information on MPs such as their background, votes they've recieved, what they've voted for when etc, then the Guardian has a great resource known as Aristotle, which records mega loads of information about MPs and brittish politics. You can find that here (link)

Other than that as was suggested a google search is a good bet. You might also find searching through some of the news sites such as the beeb (link) is a good be for finding high-profile cases. Quite a lot of the news sites maintian an archive of their coverage from recent elections where they have special featuers about the parties and major players.

    Hope that helps.

    Thanks a lot obscurity :)

The first link should be good enough, as I am only seeking for basic facts.
