Migrane cures?

I've woken up this morning with a migrane (only the 3rd time I've had one) and it's stopping me from getting on with uni work - which I really need to do today because I'm at work most of the day tomorrow. I've taken 2 ibufrofen which seems to have taken the edge off a little bit but not much. Help?

a small dry piece of bread, glass of water, couple of co-codamol, and I quiet dark room for four hours.

:yes: And avoid cheese and chocolate - these make (from experience at least) migraine worse.

Oranges... well orange squash/juice... make it worse for some people too.

What are good ways to relieve migraine headaches? I am 16 and have been getting various types of migraines since i was 3 or 4...i have heard of certain pressure points, and different techniques that could help relax you when you have a migraine.

Hey magowana, just a heads up that this thread was from back in 2010 but given the topic no harm in keeping it open in case anyone has any more migraine tips?

Avoiding dehydration seems quite key. NHS Choices also has some good info on Migraine treatment and prevention, hope it helps
