Only 1 Shrimp

Had our scan today and even though it is still very early 8w 3/4days we have scan pics woohoo, There is only one shrimp and not twins like laura was hoping for, what I will do is we've got another scan in 3weeks I'll update this thread with those (so I do not have to create a new one but look, it's a baby..

Confirmed the most important thing, a heartbeat and everything looks A OK for this early.

    It's amazing how much they grow in a couple of weeks! Next scan it'll look like an actual baby :heart:

    P.S. Is two early scans standard there? Feel a bit jealous!

    On the island we do get 3scans which is brilliant, one early, 1 12week (normal?) one 22nd week? is it (normal)

    Aye, I think it's different in different areas, but here we get a dating scan at 10-12 weeks, then abnormality scan at 20 weeks. If you have any problems and end up having an early scan, they take away your 12 weeker!

    awww, thats a shame however our ultra sound clinic on the island is tiny (only needed once a week) and in emergencies, it isn't even a full time ultra sound techie but one of the local GP's

    I need to rant though bout something but can't at work, will explain later. GRRR basically it's smoking/drinking while pregnant.

    Just down the road you would still get your 12 week scan!

    Might be a Chimera - two twin embryos merged to form one foetus - an outside chance, but a possibility
