Does anyone have a fool proof choc chip cookie recipe?

I used the one from the Nigella website this weekend and tripled the amounts on the ingredients to make 60+ for my uni friends but they spreaaaad so much and I had to slice them. Now they look like cakes and are kinda soft like cakes. I think I might have gone wrong somewhere.

Have some cookie-a-holics at home I'd really like to make decent cookie as in biscuit things for. Tried and tested if anyone knows a recipe would be soo appreciated :)

    9oz (255g) soft brown sugar
    9oz (255g) white sugar
    10oz (284g) butter
    2 eggs
    12oz (340g) chocolate chips
    1tsp vanilla essence
    1/2tsp bicarb. soda
    1/2tsp salt
    180z (510g) plain flour

Preheat oven to 180 degrees C

    1. Cream the butter and sugar
    2. Mix in the eggs then add the chocolate chips and vanilla essence
    3. Mix bicarb. soda, salt and flour together in a seperate bowl then add to mixture
    4. Spoon about a tblsp of mixture onto a lightly greased baking tray for each cookie.
    5. Bake in oven for 10-12 minutes

They do spread slightly, think Millie's cookies, but they are amazing!!!
They will look slightly undercooked when you take them out the oven but they do harden up a bit as they dry yet are still gooey in the middle!

I've used this one a good ten times, and it always makes unbelievably good cookies. You can sub the white choc and nuts for anything you want.

They do spread as they bake, just need to leave plenty of space around :)

    125g Flour
    100g Butter
    100g Suger.
    25g of choc-chip

Mix sugar and butter till creamie.
    Add flour
    Add choc-chip

Mix intill a more doughy texture.
Cook for 10-15 minutes, on medium temp (Gas Mark 5?)
Will make around 8 or 9 cookies.

May seem rough, but it's a family recipe, and i've only got it in my head. Tis fool proof works everytime like a charm :)
Ditto this but with 150g self raising flour! :thumb:

also add 1 tblsp golden syrup and swap chocolate for half a bag of crushed smarties/M+Ms ;)

(I have no idea how to convert these)
    1/2 cup m&m
    1/2 cup chocolate chips
    1/4 cup raisings (optional)
If you type for example "0.5 US cups in ml" on google and hit search, it will do the conversion for you. It will do just about any unit to any other unit, including with prefixes like milli-, micro- and kilo-.
