    I kept wondering why they were playing so many Boyzone songs on park today. Then I heard that Gately had died. Very sad news.

    Yeah, he died on Saturday 10th Oct, aged 33. During "my era" (mid90s), there were really only 3 boybands that were around simultaneously - Boyzone, Take That and East 17. When Take That split up in 1996, this prompted an upsurge of boybands so that it was much of the same stuff. I appreciated the original 3 bands (Boyzone/TT/E17) for their differences though, but post-1996, don't even go there! 1996 was the start of things going bad, then Popstars/Idols/Fameacademy finally killed it off in 2001.

    I was gutted when he turn out to be a gay haha, he was the only one i liked[ as in LIKED] back in the day :yeees:

    So young, so sad, he had the rest of his life ahead of him :( Guess it makes you realise how lucky we are sometimes :/

    Yeah this whole thing is really sad, I used to love him so much. So glad I saw Boyzone again last year when I had the chance.
