carried it all the way home and cleaned it - i've now found a good piece of wood for a replacement lid, i'm just not too sure what to do next with it...
should i get some white spirit and strip the paint - its chipping off anyway, and then sand it down and varnish it or paint it along with the lid? or should i be doing something else with it?
i've checked it for wood worm and its fine, its in pretty good nick, just needs new paint and the handles need brushing up (major rusting)
