Self-harm: going to Accident & Emergency

C FunkC Funk Deactivated Posts: 163 Helping Hand
Hey everyone

As many of you will know, TheSite.org launched a new self-harm section earlier this year.

Over the past few months we've been working hard on a video explaing what to expect when you visit an Accident & Emergency unit for a self-harm injury.

Here's the finished video

Please let us know your thoughts and if you've had any good/bad experiences at an A&E . . .

I might be the only one, but just worth mentioning.

Any clues as to what's in the video, like do you see any actual self harm in the footage? Those who are either squeamish, or may find it triggering might want to know.

Thanks Scary Monster, probably a good idea :thumb:

It's basically a tour of an A&E unit explaining the process of who you'll meet, what questions you'll be asked and what information you may need to disclose. Of course every unit is different, so there could be some variations.

Nothing squeamish and no self harm.

Hopefully it helps dispell any myths and people will find it useful.

Let me know what you think . . . :)
