Does anyone know for certain what types of medical treatment on children requires parental consent?

    Most things mainly, unless the child is old enough to be gillick competent to make their own decision, but even then the decision of the child can be over-ruled in favour of a medics opinion.

    Surgery is a biggie of course. And usually it has to be birth mothers consent.
