Soooo bored of lunches!!

Former MemberFormer Member Posts: 1,876,323 The Mix Honorary Guru
I eat my lunch in the office, we haven't got a microwave or a toaster, and I'm getting sooooooooooooo bored of eating the same stuff again and again!

The problem is I don't eat meat and I'm on a low budget (approx £5 for 5 days packed lunches). I'm sick of hummus or cheese sandwiches with the odd pasta salad thrown in. I started taking cous cous but I was never that keen on it anyway and now I really hate it!!

Any ideas please, either for sandwich fillers or anything else I can take to liven my lunch up a little! :(

Well im kinda the same, i haven't done this yet but i might start doing it. Just make too much food the night before, i dunno a veggie curry or chill con carne with some quorn. Make sure theres left overs. Whack it in the fridge.

Take it to work the next day + microwave = sorted :)

Are you a fan of cold pizza? :yum:
Salads require no heating and are very cheap.
Maybe a wrap or pita instead of a sandwich? Mixes it up just a little.

Get one of these for the office:

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/George-Foreman-Sloped-Design-Portions/dp/B000MXKQMM/ref=sr_1_12?ie=UTF8&s=kitchen&qid=1235337587&sr=1-12

Annoyingly, I bought this for £10 last week, so the price has gone up a bit...

I love cold vegetable samosas/onion bhajees, or cold veggie sausage and tomato sauce sandwiches :yum:

    Greek Salad.

Potato salad made with oil and vinegar rather than mayonaise.

    Cold roasted vegetables

Invest in a thermos flask and take in home made soup each day - this is what i do and i think it costs me about £1 a day (including bread and fruit).
