My brother always used to make me wrap his. Then one year I said no and I got a gift wrapped in toilet paper and duct tape

Just use a gift bag and tissue paper, wrapping probem solved!

Somehow this year I managed to balls up the wrapping and get the person who's present it was to wrap it.
    They don't know though, :) .

It's considerably commercialised... whereas it should be considerably funned

It's taken for granted.. it's nice but nasty... it's Christmas

    Merry Christmas everyone!

I like Christmas because everyone is together and we just get slaughtered for a few consecutive days :-)

Haven't done my wrapping yet but wish that the shops offered a wrapping service. I know that in America and some european countries do offer a wrapping service. I don't mind wrapping but it is time consuming. I think it would be good if we offered a wrapping service here in England. I know of in the past one store in London that wrapped gifts don't know if they still do. I find the celotape the annoying bit when you can't find the end of the tape.

Even by the time they're 5 and 8 the wrapping will still look a bit special.

Wrapping is my favourite bit too! I love it! Wrapping them properly, with ribbons are bows and curls!

My cats are the same :|

I have no inclination to do anything these holidays. I have only just written my Christmas cards, I have to still wrap presents and I have a hundred and one things to buy at the shop (not presents but food stuffs) and all I want to do is sleeeeeeeeep :(

    :crying:

Forget writing cards! I make mine too - that takes an entire day of doing nothing else, and then another afternoon of writing!

I love the act of gift giving. Shopping for stuff that you think someone else will like and the look on their face when they see what it is you've got. It took over an hour to wrap all my prezzies this year. And I was working fast. My mum bought a very useful tool a few years back which dispenses pre-portioned bits of tape in a container that fits on your wrist like a watch, so all you need to do is hold the paper in place with one hand and use the other to grab the tape. Fantastic!
I also make my own chocolates for people at work, simply because I enjoy doing it and I have no idea what else to get these people. Every year they are greatly appreciated even though I don't think they are always any good.
I HATE the commercialisation of Christmas though. Adverts putting pressure on adults to buy things for their children and somebody just tagging on the saying 'perfect for Christmas' at the end of a perfectly normal advert. Pople now think that they have to buy things for others rather than wanting to.
