    i can't say i agree there...

its yet another annoying product of an overcommercialised holiday which was effectively stolen from pagans thousands of years ago. There are so many products just like this and in my eyes none of them trigger any emotion other than yuck...

A holiday is a holiday I don't care who I stole it from :p and the commercialisation of it is just in reaction to people's demands. You don't have to take part ;)

If by 'adorable' you actually mean 'terrifying', then yes.

See, these are the things that make you love bingo! My nan wins all kinds of random crap at bingo, especially community bingo. Then she lovingly passes all this shit onto us

yes but SO many people do that! stop acting like "everyone who isn't pagan loves christmas tacky shit in the shops" because it's not true. it's so judgemental. Christmas does mean different things to different people and although for people who aren't religious the meaning has shifted somewhat, it does usually come down to enjoying spending time with your family.

    i didn't say that!

    and i was also joking...

i did say above, what happened to if being just a nice time to spend with your friends and family...i just don't like to commercialness of it, i'm not saying it shouldn't be there and i have plenty of pagan friends who love anything to do with xmas, i'm just not one of them. maybe its just cos i had some pretty shit xmas's but i've never really enjoyed it all.

 Christmas means spending time with people you love, you don't have to buy into all the commercial crap

Christmas is deliberately in the middle of winter to cheer people up through the winter months! Why can't people just enjoy it instead of complaining all the fuckin time! Oh my gawwwwd I can't believe I have to eat lots of nice food, get given presents and spend time with my family. What a fuckin life eh  Grr scrooges. I love Christmas!

my stepdad used to hate christmas and made it well known, and whilst we celebrated with presents and a xmas dinner etc, i dont have any memories of magical christmases that many of my friends do, and the whole xmas spirit doesnt come naturally to me. I try and get into it though as i really want my kids to feel it is a special time and have good memories of it. Its a cultural thing to get excited about it isnt it. Everyone does it. I dont see what the people who get all scroogey are gaining except probably feeling superior to others who try and have at least one fucking time a year when its fun and exciting. Birthdays are already enough of a letdown, but at least most people like christmas and can share in it as a community, if not country.

Actually, it's in the beginning of winter. Winter officially begins on the 21st December and ends on the 21st March. That would place the middle of winter at about the 5th February. :p
