Hat colours for a boy!

I want to knit my brother a hat for his birthday, he's just turning 19 and he's got quite a folky-grungey style going on. Any ideas what colours might be good? I wanted to do gray and orange stripes but the shop I'm going to doesn't have orange :( I don't want it to be girly and him not like it lol. Any ideas?

    Green! Depending on th grey I'd do either a forest or khaki green.

    I'd go khaki green or grey or a different darkish, neutral colour.

    How about grey and a beige/cream colour? Might look a bit like a burglar's hat though I suppose :chin: Or grey and a petrol blue maybe? I definitely think go for stripes though.

    Hm I like the grey and blue idea. Forest green sounds nice too! Yeah stripes are more fun than one colour. Lol at burglers hat. Aren't they black and white striped? Hmm he is a NUFC supporter...

    Ah, see I thought you meant a colour just to replace the orange! I would go with grey and khaki green or grey with forest green then :p

    Ooh I'm liking grey and maroon. Damn I had no ideas and now too many decisions! Maybe just make lots of hats (yay!)
