Sneezing politely

I notice that some of my (usually female) friends tend to hold their sneezes in cuz they probably think it's politer and stops them from spraying their germs all over the place.

Isn't this dangerous? Does it thrust a load of pressure into your head/brain or something?

    Although if you sneeze with your eyes open your eyes will fall out.

    Don't know if it's just me, but I find people holding in sneezes 1000 times more annoying that if they just sneeze :grump:

    Although one of my old friends used to genuinely sneeze like that, it was quite sweet.

    Have you noticed that pretty much everyone sneezes differently? They could use that as an identification system somewhere: "Please press the button to get pepper, and sneeze next to the microphone." :p

    I couldn't imagine holding in a sneeze on purpose. Sometimes mine get stuck and it's not like I hold it in intentionally, but really it is its own doing not coming out and it actually quite hurts!

    I hate my mums sneezes... they're so loud it hurts my ears.

    Whereas I do the traditional 'achoo' noise quite often, although it isn't always the same.
    I always look up at a light if I feel a sneeze coming on, sets it off like magic... although it does make you look like you're having a fit sometimes... rolling your eyes to the back of your head and stopping with your head facing up in the air for a couple of moments.

    Does anyone else knee always jerk upwards when they sneeze too?
    Usually manage to miss my head, but I did actually once knee myself in the forehead... hurt somewhat.

    My sneezes are short and loud. Someone said that right before I sneeze, it's like I'm a gun getting loaded. lol
