What to wear to someone else's graduation

Slightly different to the other thread that's up here at the moment...

I'm off to my boyfriend's graduation next week and I have no idea what to wear. At all. At my graduation my Dad wore a suit because we told him not to look scruffy, and my Mum wore a skirt and top and looked gorgeous because she always does. I have no idea what to wear and don't want to be over/underdressed.

Halp!
Beep boop. I'm a bot.

    hi Acrobat,
I think you could wear something smart like trousers and a nice girly shirt or that with a skirt. or even a dress??
and just make it look classy with accessories??

    hope you have fun x

Yeah, I figured smart was the way forward from mine/when I used to work at a uni but I've only ever seen parents or really young children there, noone of my sort of age so didn't really know what to so with!
