I not actually fussed about the next series. Either because torchwood is still on or because I dont really want to watch Dr Who with CatherinebloodyTate in it.

The Torchwood series finishes the night before Dr Who starts...

So jealous, I love David Tennant

I'm still unsure of Catherine Tate as an assistant really. There's something about the character that really annoyed me when she was in the Christmas special, I hope it doesn't continue annoying me through the series.

I have Doctor Who night planned out now with friends coming over :hyper:

I imagine they'll tone her down a lot from the special - one of those 'she's now had her eyes opened' characters. So I'm thinking the refusal to take what the Doctor says at face value will stay, along with a distrust of exactly what he is - but I don't for one second imagine her playing it like a sketch show character, which is what the special was a bit guilty of.

Glad I am not the only one who dislikes that pain in the arse Catherine Tate. Of all the fantastic actresses they could have used they chose her :banghead: Oh well least they still have the amazing David T :love:

Am I the only one who likes Catherine Tate? I'm looking forward to a companion who's main reason for travelling in time and space isn't that they're hoping for a chance to jump the Doctor's bones.

Yes. Comediennes aren't funny. Usually just annoying.

Banishment is not cool. I get that if I visit the parentals when it's on :/

I have a projector rather than a TV so I'll have it in glorious largeness across the wall in the lounge :D

    I'll be watching.
I love the fact that some of the Dr Who/all of the Torchwood stuff is based in Cardiff. One of my friends works in costume design for Dr Who, she's met all the stars including Kylie!! Soooo jealous. Also, I'm friends with the guy who plays David Tennant's body double - whenever there's a shot of the back of Dr Who's head, that's my friend!

Was going to post longer may do soon.

Music - bad change. Cute aliens - not bad. Donna - okayish, but needs to lose the sketch show reaction crap (this is not, despite how many times it's said - 'a great actress'). Nice to throw Rose into the mix so soon.

Quite a weekend for sci-fi though - I'd say, if I had to pick

    Best show - Battlestar's return
    Next best - Torchwoods' climax
Good, but not as good - Doctor Who's return

That was such a well acted, incredbly sad and moving ending. I cried pretty much for the last ten minutes.

I did enjoy the due Dr Who as well, opionion is still out on Catherine Tate though. I liked the new revamped music and it was quite intresting to see Rose in it so early on.

True, but on the whole this series of Torchwood has been patchy.

I've not got the highest hopes for S4 of Doctor Who, though I imagine that Donna will mellow. Not sure about bringing both Rose and Martha into this series.

I reckon Russell T. Davies might be running out of steam - maybe I need to get into Battlestar!
