Chicken Breast

Former MemberFormer Member Posts: 1,876,323 The Mix Honorary Guru
I have a chicken breast I am going to make for dinner tonight along with new potatoes and broccoli, but I haven't an idea on how to make it tasty, was going to wrap it up in tinfoil with some butter, herbs, salt&pepper and serve with a bit of gravy.

Any ideas what else I could do? Ingredients are very limited as it's the last few days to payday. :(

How exactly did you cook your chicken breast? I've always been a grill person but seeing as my gril isn't fit for human use I need to find a different way of cooking mine tonight (to go with carrot and swede mash and sugarsnap peas).

Put it in the oven and make a caserol?

Stuff it with garlic, salt and pepper. Garlic makes everything taste nice.

I usually grill mine with homemade garlic butter and have with spuds, pasta in sauce or with chips.

That's how I did mine in the end, just at a lower heat for longer so it cooked more slowly. I did it with garlic and tarragon, and it was very yum :yum:

Ah, I do a very similar thing sometimes too, it's very good :) I currently hate having to think of exciting meals, I have so little imagination at the moment for food :(

Mini baked potatoes are where it's at :D I did them last night, 4 each with different fillings butter, sour cream and chives, cheddar, cottage cheese. Oven roasted some courgettes too last night which were surprisingly tasty.

My Dad cooked some chicken on Monday. I'm a vegetarian so I obviously didn't eat it myself but it smelt really good. It was fresh free-range chicken breasts lightly brushed with a little beaten egg and then covered in fresh Italian Parmesan and cooked in the oven wrapped up in tin foil. It smelt so good but I think that was the cheese, I usually hate the small of cooked poultry.
