Lateral thigh trainer

Ive been working out on my lateral thigh trainer-i havent exercised for a while but after a week i still cant get passed 10 mins without wanting to pass out and feeling like my legs are going to fall off.
Do i need to build this up? or do you think 10mins may still have a positive effect on me?
