Hi,
I'm due to go to China in February to teach english for six months, and I have absolutely no idea what to expect.
So I was basically wondering if anyone has been to china/taught english/travelled with GAP Activity Projects(the group I'm going with). If so, I would really appreciate any stories or advice that you could offer, because I'm absolutely shitting myself and have no idea how to prepare for my trip.
Cheers <IMG alt="image" SRC="http://www.thesite.org/ubb/smile.gif">

it was a private school though (the education system is a bit odd out there - private fees are sometimes subsidised by the govt). all the kids spoke really good english.
but i guess thats not the kinda place you're going to.
i really cant help that much, as i found the language totally incomprehensible (although everything in HK is subtitled). but the food is amazing, the culture is stunning, and the country (or at least the bits i visited or flew over) is beautiful.
dont 'expect' anything. just go with an open mind, and prepare to be overwhelmed. best of luck <IMG alt="image" SRC="http://www.thesite.org/ubb/smile.gif">
