I'm thinking about going to the University of Birmingham, it's had some really good reviews and the course I want to take seems pretty interesting.
Does anyone go here, or know wat it's like? The accommodation, the people etc. However, as I don't live in the UK, I have no idea wat the accent in Birmingham is like, but I've heard it's really bad! Is this true? I don't mind strong accents, I find some quite sexy actually, I was just curious.
The accent part has nothing to do with me going to Uni there though, as I'd go there if I didn't like the accent anyways. Just wanted to know what you thought...

I am from Birmingham, the uni is a very good redbrick one, in a very leafy green area with lots of cheap bars and clubs. The accent is not to bad, and most students will be from all over the UK anyway. Contrary to popular opinion, very few Brummies (Birmingham residents) have a strong accent, most just have a hint.

It's quite a middle class uni to be honest, with high entry requirements. If you want to know anymore (although I don't actually go to the uni) just ask! <IMG SRC="smile.gif" border="0" ALT="icon"> Hope that helps.

    Yup

I go there and I've got to say - fantastic uni :) Just try and make sure you're on the vale in your first year - you'll have more fun that way. Absolutely brilliant city - halfway through being rebuilt at the minute too with the new bullring etc, etc.

    So, yes, I'm a fan :)
What course are you planning on doing?

Yeah tis gorgeous in summer innit? The campus looks ok in winter, but on a sunny day it's just bootiifull :) That's why I went there actually - when I visited it was a sunny day and I fell in love with the place
