Anyone had a sigmoidoscopy?

I've got to have one on the 30th.

I'm not particulally bothered about the actual procedure... although if someone can tell me about their experience that'd be great. (Not sure whether to have sedation or not).

But today I receieved my Enema pack in the post... and it's scared me shitless (almost literally). My mum has taken it from me and hidden it so I can't obsessively read all the info about it and worry too soon before having to do it.
Someone please tell me you've done one before... I don't know why it's bothering me so much, but it is. I'm terrified of doing it...
Infact I'm more worried about it than I was before I've had surgery before... Odd I know. But yeah, anyone with any helpful tips, advise or calming messages, please please reply.

I'd prefer picolax to this. :crazyeyes

I had too google to find out what it is.

Just make sure you shower throughly before and don't have little nuggets in the hair of the bum crack. That would be awkward.

enemas aren't too bad, i had to not eat any fibre for a week and i think i nearly died of scurvy

I've never had one before but just wanted to say i don't blame you for being worried, it's only human to feel that way. But try not to get yourself too stressed and i hope it goes okay for you x
